Clutch of Evil Capitalists

If you’ve read any of my blogs, you know what to expect from this one. No this is not my normal "day in the life entry", but rather a permutation because of the day in my life (Oh! The irony!!!)
Riiiight…. >.>
Anyway, what caught my attention today is the helpless resistance of us, namely human beings towards popular branded items or hobby merchandise. In other words, we have somewhat become slaves to our own cravings and wants. Don’t believe me? You just stop giving money to TM. See how they’re gonna let you surf for free. See? Outright subtle extortion!
Which is why this blog is titled "The Clutch of Evil Capitalists". Because the better we feel about ourselves to go ahead and spend money on our wanted items, the company, or specifically, the head(s) of the company feel way more happier than you are because they’re getting your money. By the oodles. Darn capitalists.
I’ve just spent RM80 on Magic: The Gathering and made a guy thousands of miles away very happy for my support. Gosh that sounds dumb. But then again, I guess it is a kind of drug which doesn’t involve syringes or inhalants. We NEED these things. Games, shoes, rackets, PSP, even if we’re only gonna use it once in our lives but we need these things.
Now I’m making everybody, except the capitalists, sound dumb. Ohhh… bad me. BAD!
The moral of the story? I don’t mind being dumb if it makes me happy. Seriously, happiness can be bought, though the degree is small, it is a form of happiness nontheless (very often it is turned into sorrow, with interest, when it comes to credit card bills). I mean who are we without these stuff and the people that make ‘em right? I’d take minute and subtle extortion anytime.
